RESIDENTIAL ARTURO SORIA. MADRID
The project for this 20-storey residential tower dates back to 2002, having been built between 2004 and 2006, the year in which it was completed. It is a building for 101 high-level apartments, in one of the typical areas of extension and renovation of Madrid in the 1970s and 1980s, in the historic urban development known as the “linear city of Arturo Soria”, an emblematic urban planning project of the late 19th century.
This tower stands on a free-standing plot that favors its reading as an emblematic element in the environment. Built using a system of prefabricated facades with concrete panels, it represents more than 11,000 m2 built above ground for exclusive residential use, with more than 5,000 m2 of basement space for 200 parking spaces.
The project defines the construction of a residential building on eighteen floors and three basements for garages, landscaped area and sports and landscaped area with two basements for garages in another sub-plot of the same site.
The position of the residential building was determined by the area of movement determined by the A.P.I. 15.01. of the General Plan of Madrid, as well as its height, under the premise that the distance to other buildings should be, in any case, greater than the maximum height of the building in straight projection and greater than half of this maximum height, in oblique projection, also complying with what was established by the P.G.O.U. of Madrid.
